Students will learn basic note-reading, chord shapes and strumming patterns. Also, the note-reading device, “Tabulature” will be taught. The arrangement of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” arranged by Hawaiian singer Izzy Kamakawewo’ole will be provided, as well, along with “Take Me Out To The Ballgame.” While this class is designed for students who may be home-schooled, all students are welcome.

Billie received her Bachelors of Vocal Music Ed from Gordon-College in Wenham, MA, and her Masters of Vocal Music Performance with an emphasis in choral conducting from WSU. She is a past conductor of the Wichita Choral Society. Since 2005, Billie has served as cantor and substitute choir director at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Wichita. She and her musical partner Robin Roberts have been singing and playing finger-style acoustic guitar since 2008. They have released two CDs, and broadcast live shows weekly at streetjelly.com. Billie started teaching at Senseney in 2007.
