This class is designed to teach students a strong technical ballet foundation focusing on placement of the body, strength building, stretching, musical interpretation, and artistry. Students will learn ballet steps, terminology, and choreography. Class will culminate with an in-studio performance during last class. Attire: leotard, tights, and proper leather ballet shoes are recommended.
Instructor: Regina Klenjoski
Regina Klenjoski is a creator, performer, educator and advocate of contemporary dance. Passionate about the moving body, she creates deeply personal works that examine our search for intimacy in contemporary society, often through the lens of her Macedonian heritage. Recognized by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the most active and ambitious dance makers leading Southland contemporary companies,” her work is known for its inventive partnering, technical athleticism and poetic storytelling.
Regina founded her award winning company, the Regina Klenjoski Dance Company while living in Los Angeles in 2001. In 2014, she relocated to Wichita with her husband bringing the company with her. She still maintains an active studio in Los Angeles and travels between both cities.
