9:30 to 10:15am
Students will learn beginning ballet and tap techniques to apply to fun and creative dance combinations. Dancers will work on skills in rhythm, coordination, and performance skills. Class will culminate with an in-studio performance during last class. Attire: leotard, tap shoes, and proper leather ballet shoes (tights are optional).
Instructor: Nadia Khalidi
Nadia is currently a senior Dance Performance major (B.F.A) at Wichita State University and a founding member of the Wheat State Dance Collective. She has had the joy of performing with Ballet Wichita as a soloist and principal from 2008-2016, and Alithea Mime Theatre in 2017. She credits her entire family and WSU for helping her become the dancer she is today, and is ecstatic to be a teaching member of the RKDC. Let’s dance!
Regina Klenjoski & RKDC
Regina Klenjoski is a creator, performer, educator and advocate of contemporary dance. Recognized by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the most active and ambitious dance makers leading Southland contemporary companies,” her work is known for its inventive partnering, technical athleticism and poetic storytelling. Regina founded her award winning company, the Regina Klenjoski Dance Company while living in Los Angeles in 2001. In 2014, she relocated to Wichita with her husband bringing the company with her.
