Pre-requisite: Completed beginning acting course or prior acting experience

Participants in this class will take what they have learned in the Introduction to Acting Class and develop scenes with scene partners. Working with partners, students will develop a wide range of exposure to comedic and dramatic scripts. Participants learn subtle performance techniques when delivering a scripted monologue.

Cameron is a career educator and coach and holds a BA in Secondary English Education with endorsements Speech and Theater, a Masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, and an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership, all from Wichita State University. As a debate and forensics coach, he has coached state and regional champions and had teams perform in national tournaments. In addition to coaching, Cameron has been on stage in over 100 productions and has been recognized by the Mary Jane Teall awards.
Cameron established Carlson Acting & Performance Services (CAPS) in 2017 to continue a four-generation long theater education and support services tradition, dating back to Vaudeville. His family has started or supported theater performance companies in California, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wyoming, and most recently in Kansas through the MADCAP Comedy & Improv Troupe, the professional performance arm of CAPS. Cameron’s passion for theater education is complemented by a team of other educators who assist with lesson planning, course delivery, and performance-based assessment. Offering specific, positive, and supportive feedback is a hallmark of CAPS.
